Things to know before coming to the consultation:
- Have and review all documents related to your case prior to your consultation.
- Organize your thoughts and have notes. Be sure to write down any questions you may have for the investigator in advanced. You may not remember everything you wanted to ask during the consultation, so having a list of questions can help you stay on track.
- Be completely honest and open when describing your situational circumstances. Conversations help during your consultation and throughout your investigation will be confidential in nature and privileged.
- Investigative cost and fees will be discussed with you during your consultation. A written and contractual fee agreement will be provided to you prior to the start of the investigation.
- Be sure to carefully read all documents before signing. If you are not sure or have any questions about any document, ask the investigator to explain it in terms you can understand or discuss with your attorney. Our investigators work closely with civil and criminal case attorneys to understand their litigation strategy to help build an effective legal case and take actions to substantiate and document their case or lawsuit.
- The investigator will give you an opinion about your case and how to proceed. The investigator is not an attorney and cannot provide legal advice. At some point during your investigation, you may need to consult with an attorney for legal advice concerning any questions about your particular case.
- You will be required to review and sign a retainer agreement prior to the start of any investigative activity. Once your retainer agreement has been signed the investigator will provide you with an investigative intake document for you to complete.
